Spring back into fashion this season!

This spring sees the return of colour, and comes as a welcome break from our dark, drab winter wardrobe. As predicted spring colours are all about pastels. For inspiration look to Glee's guidance councillor, Emma Pillsbury's. Light blue cardigans, crisp white shirts and mint green tailored skirts are not just for the classroom

Everyone is doing floral' s this season, from DKNY jumpsuits to New Look ruffle dresses. Try mixing this look with a peach blazer or a short denim jacket.

When you think of clogs, you think Amsterdam, women with pigtails and living in windmills....but with style icons like Alexa Chung rockin' the Chanel leather clogs, you cant go wrong. Chanel's pricetag may well be out most peoples price range, so Banana Republic and Russell and Bromley have came out with a cheaper alternative, so you too can date an Arctic Monkey!

The Mac is Back...but with an updated twist. As the sun begins to shine, shorts macs should be in your possession. Play around with different colours, military style and prints from animal to metamorphic.

Alice in Wonderland was a huge blockbuster this year, and has sneaked its way into fashion. From Alice in Wonderland tees from Truffleshuffle.co.uk to Alice bands and stopwatch necklaces from Topshop, This look can also be captured with blue dresses, white cardigans and stylish pumps. For all those adventurous fashionistas out there try a cream tutu skirt from H&M and a a plain white Tee. We will all feel like we are in a fashion fairytale!

My Fashion Predictions

Skulls - Think pirates of the Caribbean meets Gwen Stefan's "Rich Girl" video
African - Gearing up for the world cup(No football shirts allowed lol)
Preppy - Pastel polo shirts, denim skirts, college hooded jumpers.
Gingham - Not just for Dorothy from the wizard of oz!!

Fashion Do's and Dont's
Dont - wear you hair in a high side pony, you will only look like Napoleon Dynamites girlfriend!
Do - Dress age appropriate "In L.A. we call that look 'Nickelodeon Chic"
Do - Mix and match clothes. Army, Khaki jackets with dresses
Do/Dont??? - Wear socks with heels. This can be hit or a miss, so I am undecided

Style Icon of the Moment - Leighton Meester

We all know Leighton for playing the upper east side rich girl Blair Waldorf in the hit series Gossip Girl, but whether she is Blair or Leighton, she is always a fashion vixen!

Blair's look in Gossip Girl is very high fashion, even at school she wears her Jimmy Choo shoes or carry's her books in her Hermes Birkin bags. Blair's most famous for one staple fashion accessorie - Hairbands. No longer were hairbands only brought out at your childhood birthday parties or the gingham ones you wore to match your schools summer dress, they were now a must have!!

Leighton's fashion sense is quite different from Blair's prim frocks, although she is a girl who loves her dresses but Leighton prefers more out there prints and fabrics and often teams them up with a cropped leather biker jacket for that rock chic look. Leighton can also be seen wearing the latest Herve Ledger dresses, and tends to favour bright and bold colours.

Whether she is Blair or Leighton, she is always on trend and is definitely a style icon!

  2. Thanks Brynne, you inspired me to bite the bullet and start one lol!! Forever 21 have a double breasted satin jacket for $32.80.Gap have an infantry jacket in peach at $79.50. Old Navy also have great blazers and prices, the one I liked was the twill three button and comes in fab colours like hot coral pink, rolled oats and banana smoothie which would work well with florals, they are a steal at $29.50. On my next monthly blog I will start putting british and american/canadian "where to buy" as my cousins(hopefully) lol read this too!! Happy shopping xxx
